So, the access has changed. Go to

The link is available here:

  https://libguides.library.kent.edu/e-books

O'Reilly dialogue box shows up asking to select your institution, you
should pick "not listed? click here" and then supply your kent state
email. This gives you the whole list of online books. Search for
"Design Patterns". As per usual, getting a hardcopy is highly
recommended.
