Hello Computer Architecture Class:
Exercise 3.19 in the book has a type-o. You will need to represent the
numbers 74 and 21 as 7-bit (unsigned) numbers. 6-bits are too small to
hold the binary representation of 74.
Also, to help with this problem, I've updated the slides "Chapter 3 -
Multiply and Divide". I've added slide 26 that gives an example of the
optimized divider. Please notice the text at the top of this slide used in
describing the operations of the h/w.
Again, a hard copy of the homework is due at the BEGINNING of class this
Tuesday. Late assignments not accepted-no exceptions.
