Greetings everyone!
We hope you guys are excited to get down and dirty next week with Android! This is a huge platform that runs over 900 million devices globally. Getting familiar with this technology will be extremely beneficial to you and future career.
Next meeting we will be going over a lot of the basics for Android and setting up your very first project.
For this meeting you will have to do a little bit of preparation. There are just a few things you have to download so we can get started on Tuesday. The first thing you need to do is download Android Studio (http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing/studio.html) and then on the same page it will tell you exactly how to install Android Studio for your specific platform.
Important note for Windows users - You need to install the Java SDK to be able to compile applications on the Android platform. Select the proper link below and download the SDK to your computer.
32 bit Java SDK (http://download.oracle.com/otn-pub/java/jdk/7u51-b13/jdk-7u51-windows-i586.exe)
64 bit Java SDK (http://download.oracle.com/otn-pub/java/jdk/7u51-b13/jdk-7u51-windows-x64.exe) (if you are unsure, it is probably this one)
If at any point during this process you need help just email (mailto:cfullmer at kent.edu) or Facebook message (http://www.facebook.com/camden.fullmer) Camden and he will help you!
Also, if you have not signed up for the Fashion Hackathon, sign up here (http://innov8athon.com/)!
Have a great weekend!
Regards,
Hacksu Leaders
