Hello Computer Science 1A students,

*(for the link to the survey, see below)*

In case you missed it at today's lecture, my name is Jayden Stearns and I
am your Supplemental Instruction (S.I.) Leader for this semester of CS-1
A&B.
This course is known to be challenging, with a high percentage of students
earning the grade of D, F, or Withdrawing from the course.
Supplemental Instruction is designed to help support and guide your
studying for this course, and has been proven to have a notable impact on
your performance in the course (up to a full letter grade's improvement
with regular attendance, on average)!
It is always 100% free and never mandatory. Even if you are only able to
stop by a session every once in a while, it has been shown to really help
improve understanding of even the most difficult course material. *All you
need to do is to show up and participate, I handle the rest!*

Today in Professor Nesterenko's lecture, I made a brief announcement about
this course's support from S.I. For more information, you can visit the
S.I. Homepage at the following link: https://www.kent.edu/si
*
Included in my announcement was a link to a short survey that will help us
decide at what times each week I will hold these review sessions:

*This survey closes at Midnight tonight (8/31), so make sure you select all
time slots that work for your personal schedule.*

***
Expect another email from me later this week about what sessions you
collectively chose and how to join them (if online) or where they will be
held (if in-person).

Please feel free to email me with any questions you have regarding this
course or Supplemental Instruction: jstearn2 at kent.edu

Hope to see you in session!
- Jayden Stearns
