Hello CS-1A students,

Thanks to your responses to our S.I. session times survey, we have settled
upon our S.I. session times for this semester, listed below:
***
*Session Times Every Week**:*

*Mondays 5:00p-6:00p MSB 106*

*Tuesdays 6:15p-7:15p ONLINE (see link below)*
*Wednesdays 5:00p-6:00p MSB 106*
***
*NOTE:* Our Monday and Wednesday sessions are held in-person in room 106 of
the Mathematical Sciences Building (MSB). This is the same building in
which you most likely attend your lab section.
Our Tuesdays sessions are held *remotely* through Blackboard Collaborate.
You can join our *Online Tuesday Sessions* each week at the time listed
above using the following link:

*(I encourage you to bookmark this BB Collab link, as it will be the link
we use for all of this semester's Tuesday sessions.)*
*
Our first CS-1 S.I. Session of the semester is *tonight (01/24) starting at
5:00p in MSB 106*. We will be reviewing a wide variety of content that we
have covered since our first lecture last week. The many vocabulary terms
we have already learned in lecture will be used *constantly* throughout the
entirety of the semester, so a solid foundation with these terms is
important, *trust me*.
*
As I mentioned in my previous email, Supplemental Instruction (S.I.) can be
a fantastic way to "supplement" your study time in this course. I am in
charge of preparing review activities for each hour-long session, so all
you need to do is *show up, bring your notes, and be ready to review*! S.I.
has been repeatedly proven to make a big impact on GPA, especially in this
traditionally-difficult course.
*
If you have any other questions about S.I., CS-1, or Computer Science at
Kent State in general, please feel free to email me: jstearn2 at kent.edu
I hope to see you at tonight's session, if you're available and willing to
stop by!
