Dear Computer Architecture Class:
Here is an alternative way for posing question 3 from out homework
assignment.
"Assume the CPI for instruction classes A is 2, B is 4 and C is 3. For a
particular high-level language statement, the compiler writer is
considering two code sequences. Code sequence 1 uses 1 instruction from
class A, 3 from class B and 1 from class C. Code sequence 2 uses 3
instructions from class A, 1 from class B and 2 from class C.
...Answer parts a, b and c."
